Meet Johanna Engberg - Mom of Two and Brand Manager

Meet Johanna Engberg, mom of two who works as Brand Partnership Manager in the fashion industry. I’m so thankful for the opportunity to do an interview with her about her life in Stockholm and life in general. I hope you will enjoy this article...

What specific thing do you love the most about Stockholm?

The summer and that it almost never rains here. I’m from Gothenburg, where it rains almost all the time.

Yes, that’s definitely a benefit with Stockholm! Now I’m very interested to hear about your first job?

My first job was as a cashier at a bakery. I got it after I had my internship there in 8th grade.

And what is your favorite thing to do on a day off?

Workout, take a walk outside, eat a great lunch and just hang out with the kids and my fiancé. And if you meant a day off from my family (haha) I would hang out with a friend, preferably go to a spa or go out for dinner and drinks and have some fun.

Haha, both sounds amazing! Let us dive into some fun workout questions. What is your favorite workout?

A sweaty HIIT workout. I love the combination of strength and cardio.

I definitely understand why! Do you have a preference on a place in Stockholm where you workout?

For running, I go to the gym and for strength, I almost only do online home workouts with Sthlm Bootcamp Factory.

When do you prefer to workout during the day?

100 % in the morning.

And do you rather workout by yourself, in a group, or together with a friend?

I usually workout by myself or with my sister.

Aww, I wish I lived closer to my sister. So nice that you workout together! I bet you must have a blast. On that note. When was the last time you laughed out loud, and just could not stop laughing?

Tonight, my oldest son put on a Halloween mask and scared the hell out of me.

Haha, sounds like he’s good at scaring. Do you have any current obsession in life?

Re-painting our walls at home. As soon as I get bored, I usually do a makeover in one of our rooms.

What is the one thing you could never live without?

Marabou chocolate.

I agree, what would life be without chocolate. Do you listen to any podcasts, and if you do which is your favorite podcast?

One of my all-time favorites is “Vattnet går” with Nina Campioni and all of her amazing guests. Another one is “Ursäkta”, I just laugh so much when I listen to Johanna & Edvin.

They both sound really good! But now to a less of an easy question maybe. What would you say scares you the most, in life?

To die when my kids are very young and leave them without their mother.

I can't even imagine. A bit brighter question now. Tell me about a hidden talent of yours?

I’m unreasonable amazing at unpacking moving boxes and putting IKEA furniture together.

Wow, I wish I had that talent myself haha. Now I’m very excited to hear about your first Pilates experience?

My first experience was at a gym where my mom was working as a spinning instructor. There was this elderly lady in a shiny baby blue catsuit and a lot of make-up. She clearly made an impression on me.

It sounds like an experience itself. When do you feel the most creative?

When I have late-night brainstorming talks with my fiancé. He is a very creative person and drags the best ideas out of me.

Who is the most fashionable person you know?

My five-year-old. He always put together his own outfits and then goes and checks himself in the mirror.

If you had an unlimited amount of money and knew that you would not fail, what would you do?

I would love to start an orphanage or a women’s shelter in Kenya. I lived there for one year when I was younger and even if that is a short period of my life that place means a lot to me.

That sounds amazing! Where is your favorite vacation spot in the world, and why?

Mallis! I have been there so many times both pre-kids with friends and then with the kids for family vacations. The island has so much to offer and the food is amazing. If you go there you have to visit two of my favorite restaurants. La Boveda in Palma City or Patiki Beach in Sollér.

Thank you for the advices, I’m definitely writing them down so I can try them next time I pay a visit to Mallorca. And now to the final question, what is the ultimate sportswear according to you?

The ultimate tights should be black, tight, no camel toe, high-waisted, and squat proof. For the top, I don’t have that many preferences. I love a great all-black outfit.

Johanna is such a sweetheart. Now jump over to her Instagram called instagramwhore and get the recipe for a really really good pasta dish she recently posted. Xx, Helena
