In Conversation with Pilates Instructor Monica Müller
We had the opportunity to do an interview with Pilates Instructor Monica Müller. We talked about Pilates, health and much more.
Monica is a mom of 3 children, a passionate Pilates instructor, a sensible person with a big heart and the owner of Pilates-Fit. We are amazed by her energy and a bit jealous that she gets to live close to the beautiful Alps in Switzerland.
You seem to have a lot of energy and we love it. What would you say is your life motto?
My life motto is to live in the present and to enjoy every moment.
Do you have any favorite movements in Pilates that you always come back to?
Right now I am curious about experimenting with new movements and acknowledging how the body reacts to them. But also, trying to understand what kind of training and how much training, is considered to be healthy. My favorite Pilates moves are, Spine Twist, Spine Stretch, Bridges, and all kinds of healthy movements, which I can do with control, and rather slow. I also like the series of 5 with focus on the core.
A beautiful body is, when the person have this glow, from inside and out, and moves with confident.
How would you describe Pilates? What is Pilates to you?
Pilates to me is my mindfulness a practice where I can recharge and connect both body and mind. Pilates is not just a training, it is a philosophy. It is the perfect workout because you train both body and mind. I also like it because you can experiment with so many different exercises. In my opinion, it is also the best workout in order to train deep muscles and the pelvic floor. When training for me, one can expect a balanced session with focus on the individual need.
Of course we have to take this opportunity to ask you about what the perfect Pilates outfit is?
The perfect Pilates sportswear is something that feels comfortable, allows me to move freely, and also something that flatters the body and makes me look good.
We often confuse power with something physical or leaders that gets much attention in this world. What is power to you?
Power to me is connected to my mental strength, and with my powerhouse.
